What is an Intranet? An Extranet?
An Intranet is a Web site that is designed
for the exclusive use of staff within a company. It may contain general
corporate information or other highly custom and usually proprietary functionality.
Access is often restricted to those on a LAN. Accounts and passwords are
usually required for access.
An Extranet is a Web site that is designed for use by outsiders
such as customers, prospects, and vendors. Typically, these sites are password protected so
that only select people have access to the information.
What Experience Do We Have?
At UNETY, we have built many intranets and extranets for our clients.
Some of these sites have been much more sophisticated then their public Web sites.
Some examples of the functionality they have provided include:
- In/Out Status Board
- Time tracking/approval screens
- Employee online expense reports
- Products database
- Job costing screens
- 360 HR performance reviews screens
- Sales force management screens
- Online estimate and quote screens
- Knowledge database screens
- Web browser bookmark screens
- Training course content and certification screens
- Job openings/applicant screens
- Contact management screens
- Marketing direct email campaign screens
- Calendar of events screens
- Customer registration screens
You may be surprised at what can be done.

See for Yourself
Since seeing is believing, we invite you to take a few minutes to page
through our online showcase by clicking on the Portfolio
link in the right margin. There you will see the names of some of
our clients as well as an annotated version of some of our latest
work.
